Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex passed By-law 2026/090 on October 7, 2026, under the authority of Section 28 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended, to adopt a Community Improvement Plan for the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex.
The purpose and effect of the Community Improvement Plan (CIP) is to repeal and replace the Municipality's existing 2021 Community Improvement Plan. The updated CIP modernizes financial incentive programs, supports community revitalization and housing development, and encourages continued investment in Southwest Middlesex.
Key components of the updated CIP include:
- Updated funding amounts and eligibility criteria for existing incentive programs, including the Façade Improvement Grant, Commercial Conversion/Rental Housing Grant, and Building, Property and Accessibility Improvement Grant;
- Introduction of new financial incentives to support the creation of Additional Residential Units (ARUs);
- Updated geographic eligibility through the identification of Settlement Revitalization Areas; and
- Revisions to program guidelines and application requirements to clarify eligibility, simplify administration, and improve accessibility for applicants.
Council considered all written and oral submissions in making their decision to adopt the plan, and input from stakeholders were used to help development the CIP programs. The decision of the Council of the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex is final if a notice of appeal is not received on or before the last day for filing a notice of appeal.
