Following confirmation of the legislative requirements under the Municipal Act, 2001, the Municipality has confirmed that the existing council composition (8 council members) will remain in place for the 2026 municipal election, as required by provincial legislation.
Council has decided to implement its intended change to council composition through a future by-law, which will apply starting with the 2030 municipal election. This update is provided to ensure clarity and certainty for residents and prospective candidates.
