Overview

Under the general direction of the Manager of Community Services and Facilities, the successful applicant will be responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Community Services and Facilities department. General maintenance duties at outdoor sports fields, indoor sporting venues, cleaning of washroom facilities, watering flower baskets and litter/debris pickup. Perform preventative maintenance tasks at municipal amenities. Successful applicants will be required to work within standard operating procedures as outlined by the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex.

Qualifications
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR (C) (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license (G)
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Background Check
  • Competency in operating powered maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, string trimmers and hand tools
  • Experience working in turf management, forestry and horticulture will be considered an asset
  • Good knowledge of the methods and best practice for servicing equipment
  • Experience with aquatic pool chemistry and mechanics will be considered an asset
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to drive vehicles with trailer attachment
