The Municipality of Southwest Middlesex is pleased to announce that the Southwest Middlesex Fire Department has received $36,233.56 in provincial funding to support firefighter cancer prevention initiatives.
This funding will allow the department to purchase additional turnout gear, protective hoods, and specialized cleaning equipment to help reduce firefighters’ exposure to harmful contaminants encountered during emergency responses. Enhanced cleaning practices and the ability to rotate protective gear will further support the long-term health and safety of local firefighters.
The Municipality thanks the Province of Ontario for this important investment in the health and well-being of Southwest Middlesex firefighters.
