The subject lands are located on the north side of Longwoods Road (County Road 2), between Sassafras Road and Dogwood Road. The lands are legally described as Part of Lots 22 and 23, Range 1 (Mosa), and Part 1 of RP 34R657, Municipality of Southwest Middlesex.
The purpose and effect of the Consent application would be to sever a parcel of land that contains an existing sawmill operation (Rustic Burl Inc.). The severed parcel will have an area of approximately 1.14 ha (2.8 ac), with approximately 116.23 m (381.3 ft) of frontage on Longwoods Road (County Road 2). The retained farmland would be approximately 49.86 ha (123.21 ac) in size with a frontage of approximately 599 m (1,965.2 ft) on Longwoods Road (County Road 2).
The purpose and effect of the Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone the lands from ‘General Agricultural (A1)’ to a site-specific ‘General Agricultural (A1-#)’ zone to continue to permit the sawmill use and uses accessory to the sawmill, while prohibiting residential uses.
A hybrid public meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.. Interested members of the Public have the option of either attending the Meeting in-person, or connecting through a virtual electronic platform.
