Departments

Administration
The Clerk’s office is generally responsible for providing information to the public on various subjects (ie. planning, council/committee meetings, etcetera), for issuing marriage and lottery licenses and maintaining the municipality’s records. Those records include the meeting minutes, by-laws and all other information as required by statute or regulation.  The Clerk’s office is also responsible for assisting Council in their business by preparing agendas and reports to council, and by offering their recommendations on the various matters brought before council. They also implement the policies as adopted by council.

Building and By-law Enforcement
The Building and By-law Enforcement Department issues building and demolition permits, and all other building constructions matters, by-law enforcement, property standards, and septic system approvals.

Facilities & Recreation
The Facilities and Recreation Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Southwest Middlesex recreation facilities and parks.  They are also responsible for the bookings of time at the arena, the community centers, and the parks and pavilions.  They also oversee the operation of the public outdoor heated pool facility during the summer.

Public Works & Utilities

• Transportation Services, including Municipal road maintenance, construction, and winter control.
• Utility Services, including municipal water supply and sanitary sewer systems in designated areas.
• Waste Management Services, including recycling, garbage collection and disposal.
• Municipal Drain Services, including construction and maintenance on all municipal drain waterways.

Treasury
The treasury department is responsible for financial administration including tax, water, sanitary, sewer service billing and collection.
