RE: HOUSEHOLD SPECIAL WASTE DISPOSAL

If you are a resident of Middlesex County, you can use the City of London Household Special Waste (HSW) drop-off depot at 3502 Manning Drive starting on March 15, 2003. The best way to get to the depot is to proceed on Wellington Road south of Highway 401 and turn right onto Manning Drive. The depot is at the landfill site on the north side of Manning Drive.

Residents of Strathroy-Caradoc, Southwest Middlesex, Adelaide-Metcalfe, North Middlesex, and Newbury are asked to use the depot on the first two Saturdays of each month and residents of Thames Centre, Middlesex Centre, and Lucan-Biddulph are asked to use the depot on the last two Saturdays of each month. Hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Items that can be taken to the site are paints, oils, thinners, pesticides, small batteries, drain cleaners, poisons, cleaning fluid, thermometers, and medications. Please label each item. You will be asked for your address so we can track where the site users are from.

Each County vehicle entering the site is permitted to bring up to a maximum of 30 litres of HSW materials.

Do not bring empty containers to the HSW depot. If they are made of recyclable material please put them in your blue box. If they are not recyclable, please dispose of empty containers with your garbage.
