The Clerk’s office is generally responsible for providing information to the
public on various subjects (ie. planning, council/committee meetings,
etcetera), for issuing marriage and lottery licenses and maintaining the
municipality’s records. Those records include the meeting minutes, by-laws
and all other information as required by statute or regulation.
The Clerk’s office is also responsible for assisting Council in their
business by preparing agendas and reports to council, and by offering their
recommendations on the various matters brought before council. They also
implement the policies as adopted by council.
Any delegations wishing to speak at a council meeting must arrange a time
with the Clerk’s Office. In order to be included in the agenda package, the
request and any written information must be received by the Clerk’s Office
by 4:30 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to the scheduled meeting.
