LIMERICK ROAD AND TRILLIUM DRIVE LANDFILL SITES

Landfill Tipping Fee Schedule Please See Fee and Service Charges By-law
Note:  Effective September 2, 2009 there will be no charge for rimless tires when brought to the landfill site.  Tires with rims will continue to be accepted for a fee.

Limerick Road Site - 724 Limerick Road
Hours of operation are:        
Wednesdays from noon to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Trillium Drive Site - 3945 Trillium Drive
Hours of operation are:
Tuesdays (Apr. 1 – Oct. 31 only) from noon to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Residents of the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex  may use either landfill site for disposing of household waste and materials to be recycled providing the following rules and regulations are adhered to:

Rules

  1. All debris must be separated into the following:

    • Household garbage

    • Recyclable Materials

    • Metal

    • Burnable

    • Cement

    • Compost

    • Tires

    • Shingles/Petroleum products

  2. All household garbage must be contained in translucent garbage bags.  Each bag must:

    • weigh less than 45 lbs (20 kg)

    • bear a bag tag

  3. Recyclable materials must be separated into:

    • paper products - eg. newspaper, fine paper, cardboard

    • recyclable containers - eg. glass, plastic, aluminum, tin

  4. The supervisor will direct you where to dump debris.

  5. Construction debris will be accepted provided it is:

    • Sorted and clean from nails

  6. Scrap metal will be accepted provided it is:

    • properly separated from all non-metal components

    • Placed on the scrap pile as directed by contractor

  7. Appliances will be accepted provided they are:
     - free from fluorocarbon refrigerants
     - tagged/labeled free of ozone depleting substances by a certified person

  8. Grass clippings/leaves will be accepted provided

    • Unbagged

  9. Electronic Waste is accepted at both SWM landfills without a charge.  See the documents below for further information about the electronic waste program

  10. Tipping fees will apply to all refuse with the exception of: 
     - scrap metals which are properly separated from all non-metal components and deemed suitable by the landfill site supervisor
     - compostables, brush or any material deemed suitable for burning by the landfill site supervisor

  11. Any person found dumping debris on the municipal road will be charged.

  12. No large loads will be accepted after 3:00 p.m. unless previous arrangements have been made with the site supervisor.

Absolutely No Vehicle parts, hazardous waste or animal remains.
